At the time, I was Vice President of the Student Chapter of the National Art Education Association (NAEA) at GMU. Every semester, there is a presentation to welcome new grad students and entice them to join the NAEA. At every presentation was a poster of an illustration of Spider-man inviting the students to join NAEA. The original poster was created during a time when there was a trend of using stills from the 1960’s Spider-man cartoon to create memes. I thought it might be more engaging to animate it.
I found the original cartoon still that the meme was based upon. Using Adobe Illustrator, I vectorized the image and then isolated the layers before importing into Adobe After Effects, where I created the animation.
